The Gauntlet – One Day of Changing Times

April 1, 2010

Tell us about one day that changed for you in the past 7 days.

Stay with me. I’m throwing down the gauntlet here.

O.K. so stop, look and listen to the past 7 days to see what you missed. Look at your calendar, review your journal, ask your partner what he or she saw changed, maybe you missed it.

When was the last time you installed an update in your mind? How about your body? O.K., what about your spirit? Nothing? Well then, how about your emotional bank account? When was the last time you installed a new update there?

Perhaps you’re not sure, or we’re moving a little fast since last week.

Let me start us off. O.K.? I have a most beautiful airplane and I’ve been so engrossed in my work speaking and writing my book on Master Mind Mastery I’ve actually not flown it for, believe it or not, 18 months. {Gasp} Flying, since my first plane ride at the age of six months has always been my dream and I have my plane yet woke up realizing I’ve been letting life slip by without flying. So, Saturday that changed, and I’ve got to tell you I’ll never do that again. Never again will I let more than 1 month, preferably one week pass without flying. So uplifting, so inspiring, so thrilling and joyous is my experience of flying my plane I was unconsciously turning away so I could, pardon the expression, not be so happy when others are suffering so.

Let us all now be uplifted into the joy that life has to offer us. Into the happiness that is our destiny, into the fullness of expression which is the truth of who we are.

So, Changing Times require movement. Day by day we are coming from a different place. Moment to moment, in fact it is impossible to capture a moment of now because when we awaken to THIS moment we have already traveled beyond the past seven, eight, nine words into THIS moment. Get the idea. We can look ahead, then watch it drift by and in the blink of an eye that moment is history, memory, gone like a traffic light on a street corner now viewable only in the mirror, and when we turn the next corner or continue straight along the path a while it is gone to be seen never more.

Someone says, “ah but I could turn around and see it again by driving back there.”

That is certainly so, but the light we see next time has traveled through time to become less bright or covered in dirt, or struck by a truck and bent to a new angle thus never again to be the same light seen.

We are travelers and wherever we are going to is home to where we are coming from. Let me rephrase that. Exactly where we are coming from is where we are going to.

Every little thing entering our experience adds to our experience in some way. Generally speaking, however, most of the input we get simply reinforces the experiences we’ve had in the past for the multitudes of humanity living in mind, to enable repetition of the same experiences over and over again with monotonous regularity.

And we prove like attracts like every day.

Sound familiar?

Anyone not thinking we humans tend to be creatures of habit need only draw the curtain on one day of the calendar or other time tool being used to see the repetition. Look deeper into the silence and awareness will come of the thoughts and feelings, or lack thereof, accompanying those experiences. When you do you’ll see the truths of lives of, “quiet desperation,” noted by the poet in prose are being lived by us every day.

So, where does that leave us?

For most we spend time and money on books, tapes, trainings, conferences and all manner of learning tools in search of, “the answer” to our plight in the form of whatever challenge we face and repeatedly find disappointment. Nothing changes.

Why?

I tell people, “Unless you have a definite strategy for change you need not expect change anytime soon.”

So that’s the discussion we want to open this week. Please share your strategies for a change. What do you do, think, say and feel in order to action make the change you seek to make?

As we view these and move forward we may find some ruts or cracks or even barricades along change street and with our new Changing Times awareness we’ll learn to steer over under around or through them as we go.

I look forward to the journey we may now begin.

Over…

P.S. I’m throwing down the gauntlet: Challenge your self to give your self permission to be happy and celebrate your life.
